What if every detail about you and your life was available for anyone to know? A single-player/multiplayer third-person action-adventure video game for the PS3 console, Watch Dogs is set in an alternate version of modern day Chicago, Illinois. After a hacker let loose a virus that turned off all the electrical devices in many parts of Northeastern and Mideastern United States, a computer software known as the CtOS (Central Operating System) was activated in order to manage the many electrical devices of Chicago so as to provide centralized control over traffic lights, electricity grids, subway lines, surveillance cameras and much more. Private companies fund the CtOS and hence get to know personal information about everyone who is connected with technology.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, the single-player story mode follows an ingenious hacker named Aiden Pearce who hacks into different kinds of electronic devices in order to extract information or to destroy such devices. The gameplay sees Aiden making his way through the open world environment and hacking phones to gain bank data, distracting people by triggering malfunctions in devices and changing traffic light patterns to cause collisions, all in order to track down and kill individuals or to follow prospective victims so that their would-be-assailants can be dealt with before their crimes are executed. Having received a PEGI rating of 18, the multiplayer mode of this game sees a one-on-one interaction between two players where the first player has to trace and hack the mobile phone of the second player so that valuable information is stolen for the first player to use. Other multiplayer modes include Decryption, CtOS Mobile Challenge, Online Hacking and a racing mode as well.
